We are able to provide final determination as the relevant pension signatory [where applicable] or provide comprehensive assessment of future capability, opinion on timescales for maximum medical improvement with best medical treatment and assess capability against requirement of the job or alternative employment; taking account of all available medical evidence as well as best practice in terms of treatment and adjustments to accommodate the relevant incapacitating illness.
An independent assessment can be useful information for an assessing pension signatory where the pension scheme rules do not allow for the TOPHS physician to perform this function. The independent assessment can also help with dispute resolution and appeals.
